With out a doubt I would not have been able to breastfeed my baby without Brittany! I vividly remember the day that I contacted her… I was a sobbing, train wreck, hot mess. Brittany could not have been more kind, understanding, non-judgmental, comforting, supportive and helpful! I can not say enough about her and what she has done for us! Having her come to my home made a world of difference to be comfortable in my space allowed us to be the most successful! I was told by more than one professional that I wouldn’t be able to breastfeed but Brittany made a step by step plan for us to work through. She was so so soooo supportive! Each week she would LISTEN, and hear our needs, and meet us where we were at! Together we would make a plan/schedule to implement until I saw her again. Each week got better & better & better! And not just breastfeeding!! Because brittany has so much experience and has devoted so much time to her specialty, she was able to identify his tongue tie (that 3 pediatricians and 3 other lactation consultants missed!!), help us get his reflux & gas much improved by recognizing he has a food intolerance, she helped us with major skin break down on his bottom, mastitis, bottle feeding, pumping…. She really was able to see the whole picture and I am so extremely grateful! When others were unable to help in week one, brittany stuck with us and guided us for several weeks and I can say we were able to to exclusively breastfeed!!!! She really was my source of sanity during this whole process. If you are having ANY difficulty breastfeeding I 100% recommend you schedule an appointment! Even if you think the problem is too little or in my case too BIG…. You WILL have a more successful breastfeeding journey!

With my first 2 girls, breastfeeding came relatively easily so when I couldn’t breastfeed my son, I felt like a total failure. I finally got some nursing shields and he was able to nurse a little bit, but when the pediatrician said he was losing weight we had to give him bottles that I pumped. Eventually, he wouldn’t nurse at all and I was exclusively pumping. This was HARD and EXHAUSTING. For our 1 month check up, I finally asked if he could maybe be evaluated for a tie (no one had mentioned this possibility to me before) and our pediatrician recommended Brittany. She could easily see he had a pretty bad lip and tongue tie, which was confirmed by the dentist that does the procedures to release. Brittany walked me through the entire journey of the procedure and the therapy afterwards for several weeks. It was tough but she was so supportive, knowledgeable, and patient. She helped with all aspects including pumping parts, correct bottles and pacifiers, mastitis, and teaching him how to start nursing again. I am soooooo sooo happy to say that we are now exclusively breastfeeding again. I really had given up hope and thought I’d have to just switch to formula because it was too much on my mental health to keep up with pumping. Brittany showed me how to take things one little step at a time and to never put too much pressure on the timing of the results, just to focus on the step we were on. She is amazing, and any mama struggling needs to see her. The lactation consultants at the hospital cannot be compared, because Brittany is light years ahead when it comes to experience! Brittany was so caring & honestly concerned about my mental health from only breastfeeding for 6 days. She helped me process & understand what I was dealing with. I felt like after our visit I knew her for several years when I only just meet her. She made me feel very accepting of my choice to stop breastfeeding for my mental health not only for me but for my child. I am so grateful & thankful for her quick response to meet me.

I’m so grateful for Brittany. Our journey did not start out as planned. I hired a consultant prior to birth knowing I wanted to get ahead of any potential issues and to set ourselves up for a success breastfeeding journey. That person gave us less than the bare minimum in time, assessment, and support. After three weeks of not even coming close to meeting desired goals, plenty of frustration, and even more tears, we called in Brittany. She spent an ample amount of time and was super thorough in assessment and planning. Unlike our prior consultant, I didn’t have to ask her to do anything: she checked every box off as part of her normal procedure. She didn’t leave me wanting and needing anything, no rock unturned, and no question went unanswered. I now had achievable goals, tools to help accomplish them, and the much needed guidance and support. She changed our journey for the better and truly changed my life and mindset. I now have a super positive experience with my baby (and my pump, hehe). I cant recommend her highly enough. She is the absolute key to success in any mother’s breastfeeding and postpartum journey.

Brittany absolutely saved my breastfeeding journey! She was the third lactation consultant we saw, and my only regret is that we didn’t use her from the very beginning. She was not only a wealth of knowledge regarding breastfeeding, oral ties, pumping, and bottle feeding, but she was so emotionally supportive during a very difficult postpartum period. She was kind, patient, understanding, and offered highly individualized care. Every baby and journey is different, and Brittany took the time to learn my baby and give us all the tools and support we needed to keep breastfeeding. She truly feels like part of our family now, and I can’t recommend her enough!

I could seriously write a book about Brittany! Coincidentally, she was actually one of our nurses in labor and delivery at St. Tammany, so we were shocked when it was her who was also recommended to us for lactation. My son had so many challenges when it came to feeding, and Brittany was SO helpful. Any time I have mentioned I’m seeing a lactation consultant, people mention how pushy some can be. This was NOT the case with Brittany. She was always so supportive of anything we chose and simply guided us through the process that best met our needs. She helped us to identify a tongue/lip tie, work on comfortable feeding positions, identify a dairy intolerance, and just in general made me feel more confident about my journey. Brittany even used her PERSONAL time to go out of her way and come do a weight check when there were some concerns with my son’s weight. The BEST. Hands down.

Im a FTM and 5wks postpartum and can honestly say that Brittany has been paramount to preserving my breastfeeding journey and overall postpartum recovery mentally and physically. Brittany first saw me 2days after delivery - I encountered numerous unforeseen issues including overproduction and mastitis and if it wasn't for Brittany I would have been SERIOUSLY ill. She has checked on me nearly every day and was there for me when all other medical professionals failed me. She's a true blessing and I am forever grateful for her knowledge, professionalism, and genuine compassion. My only regret was not seeing her before baby arrived.
